The body has an amazing capacity to heal. It is encoded in our very DNA to heal. These bodies of ours will self protect and heal if given half an opportunity to. Of course faith without work is dead. The greatest medicine for healing is the mind. This is because the body responds to the conscious and unconscious thoughts that flow through our minds each and every day all day! When the thoughts are unhealthy, the body becomes unhealthy. The cells of our bodies listen to our thoughts and our emotions. The thoughts causes us to feel a certain kind of way. Feelings are emotions. If you notice one of the main words in the emotion is "motion". Feelings move things. The feelings of love can move us to tears. The feelings of hate can move us to either fear or anger. The feelings of depression can move us to listlessness, and for some to suicide. Every cell of our bodies are connected to a thought an emotion. Every organ of our bodies are influenced by emotions. So if we understand this; and we adjust our thinking, therefore adjusting our emoting, we can facilitate; or keep a healthy state of being.
Diet and exercise also plays a big part in the healing process of the body. There are foods that build us up, and there are foods that tear us down. There are natural elements that help us to maintain the healing process also. There is a natural energy that runs through us all that has an intelligence all of it's own. This energy if allowed to flow freely unencumbered will bring healing to our body. We have to maintain a good balance in our bodies between thoughts, emotions and spirit. Rest and sleep is the way that the body heals itself. If one cannot rest the body does not have the proper way in which to restore itself. The first word inside the word restore is "rest". So with the proper diet, (mental, emotional, and spiritual foods), the proper rest, and specific healing modalities; Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Qong, Reiki, Acupuncture, Massage; the body can heal itself.
